Beginning in 2017, I travelled repeatedly through Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai and Tibet, researching journeys for National Geographic’s interest in West China. I presented the proposals to their international team.

The fieldwork meant driving the roads myself, checking the distances and supplies, and spending time with people along the way. A promising route on paper still needed to make sense for the person travelling it.

Those journeys continue to inform how we work at Auralize: what to prepare, where to pause, and when to change the plan.

2017 年起，我反覆走進四川、雲南、青海與西藏。勘路、拜訪、研究，再把旅程構想帶到 National Geographic 的國際團隊面前匯報。

有些判斷，坐在辦公室裡做不了。車開過去，才知道一天走下來會不會太累；在當地坐下來，才知道除了風景，還有甚麼值得停留。

這些路，也讓我更清楚怎樣照顧一段旅程。把準備做在前面，把選擇留給你；沿途有了變化，我們也留有餘地。
